Brainy Baby Haul

So yesterday I got a visit from the UPS guy.  When I heard him say he had a package for me I started freaking out wondering what I had bought because I just couldn't remember.  I could hear it now, my husband laughing/scolding me for buying a useless item, but it was educational items I bought for my daughter!  I was very relieved.

Anyways, a few weeks ago Hautelook listed a sale for Brainy Baby items, which I really wanted to get for my daughter.  I've never heard of the brand, but apparently it's similar (or maybe even better) than Baby Einstein.  So I ordered one of their package deals, which was two books (shapes & colors and animals), two flashcards (123s and ABCs) and four DVDs (all each topic stated).  I know my daughter is still young to understand all of this, but I wanted to give it a try.  =D  Here's a few pictures from my haul.

Have you mamas ever tried these educational items for your child?  Do you think they work?

Thanks for reading,
Dinah

Aw, that's so cute how you bought her those. Look at her, she's already so curious. Brains and beauty, I tell you lol.

In the last pic she's starting to open it! Pretty soon she'll open it right side up. <3

@Joyce Thanks. =) It'd be cool if I get her all reading and all that by 2. If that's possible? I'm not sure. Lol.

@Fabulous Aimee. YAY! I'm glad! I guess I'll be reading to her and showing her the dvds tomorrow =)

Oh cool! I never heard of the brand neither, but I bet it'll be great for her :). You can never start too early (even though seems like she doesn't care). I got my daughter some baby Einstein stuff when she was a baby (just the flash cards--animal, shapes & numbers. and one animal book). she really loved the book & animal flash cards. Didn't care so much for the shapes & numbers back then. I put the number & shapes one away for a while & forgot about them. By the time I remembered, she was already 3 and knew all her shapes and numbers *fail*. lol. I also got her the "your baby can read" series. I can't say if it works or not because we didn't follow their instructions: Play the DVD twice a day. I think it was supposed to be done everyday or 5 times a week. something like that. Would've been cool though if she learned from that set. She didn't want to watch it twice a day. Sometimes she'd watch it the first time (often only about halfway), then she'd refuse to watch the second time. -_-. She's doing better the old fashioned way though. Mama teaching her. Lol. I'm going to give it another try though, since she's only 3. If she still doesn't like it, then I guess it's not for us.

My goodness I type too much. Sorry for the long ass post ^_^.

Lol! No no. I love hearing your experience with educational items for your daughter. =) I've been slacking showing Alyssa the dvds and flashcards. She doesn't seem very interested in the tv. Usually once she seems my laptop she starts crawling for that and won't want anything else. I need to get on it though. I'll try to show her the books and flashcards more. We'll see if it makes a difference. Haha.
